Editorial Policies

Aim and Scope

Since 2007 "Litiyo i Metallurgiya" ("FOUNDRY PRODUCTION AND METALLURGY") publishes timely articles, balancing both clinical and experimental research, case reports, reviews and lectures on pressing problems of rheumatology. The Journal is aimed to provide a forum to discuss etiology and pathogenesis, clinical features, modern diagnostic and treatment approaches to rheumatology and its complications, as well as associated conditions.

Open Access Policy

"Litiyo i Metallurgiya" ("FOUNDRY PRODUCTION AND METALLURGY") is an open access journal. All articles are made freely available to readers immediately upon publication.

Our open access policy is in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) definition - it means that articles have free availability on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself.

Peer-Review

Articles are reviewing.

Review procedure includes the following steps:

1. Examination of the article by the executive secretary of the journal for compliance with the basic provisions of article publication requirements approved by the editorial board of the journal. Performed for no more than 3 days from receipt of the article to the editor.

2. The peer review carried out by experts of the corresponding profile, having a scientific degree of not less than doctors and the not having scientific, financial or any other relationship with the authors and editors of the journal. Selecting an external reviewer is made by editors. Reviewing articles done on a voluntary and free of charge. Review procedure is confidential. Reviewers are notified that the manuscript is the intellectual property of the authors and are reportedly not subject to disclosure. Reviewers are not allowed to make copies of the manuscript for their needs. Breach of confidentiality is only possible in the case of alleged inaccuracy or falsification of materials. Author of the paper under review is given an opportunity to read the text of the review.

Approval of the content of journal by chief editor and / or deputy editor is made after the execution of technical layout of the issue before being sent to the printer.

The author has the opportunity to get acquainted with the layout of the article to confirm consent on its publication.

Articles, modified or revised by the author, are-routed for additional review.

Not allowed to be published:

  • Article shall not be issued in accordance with the requirements for publication and authors disclaim technical revision of the article.
  • articles by authors who do not comply with the constructive comments of the reviewer or arguments do not refute them.

Rejected articles after processing by authors have the right to re-submission them to the editorial board and considered in general terms.

 

Indexation

Articles in "Litiyo i Metallurgiya" ("FOUNDRY PRODUCTION AND METALLURGY") are indexed by several systems:

  • Russian Scientific Citation Index (RSCI) – a database, accumulating information on papers by Russian scientists, published in native and foreign titles. The RSCI project is under development since 2005 by “Electronic Scientific Library” foundation (elibrary.ru).
  • Google Scholar is a freely accessible web search engine that indexes the full text of scholarly literature across an array of publishing formats and disciplines. The Google Scholar index includes most peer-reviewed online journals of Europe and America's largest scholarly publishers, plus scholarly books and other non-peer reviewed journals.

Publishing Ethics

All articles are reviewed for originality, ethics and significance.

Compliance with the standards of ethical behavior is important for all parties involved in the publication: authors, editors, reviewers, publishers.

 Responsibilities of the Editorial Board

1. Decision on publication

1.1 The Editorial Board of reviewed journal "Foundry Production and Metallurgy" is responsible for deciding which articles will be published in the journal. The decision is made on the basis of submitted article reviews

1.2 The Editorial Board follows policy of the journal and operates within the legal requirements, as it is responsible for copyright infringement. The editor may consult with other editors to make a decision.

2. Confidentiality

2.1. Reviewers or any of the staff editorial staff must not disclose any information about submitted manuscript to anyone other than the author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers and the publisher, as it is confidential.

3. Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

3.1. Unpublished materials contained in the submitted article should not be used by editor and reviewers in their own scientific research without the special written permission of the author.

 Duties of reviewers

Reviewers assist the chief editor in making editorial decisions and help the author improve the work.

1. Confidentiality

1.1. Any manuscripts received for review must be considered as confidential documents. They can not be displayed or negotiated with other persons other than those authorized by the editors.

2. Confirmation of sources

2.1 Reviewers should identify the published work which was not cited by the author. Any statement that observation, the origin or argument previously been reported should be accompanied by the appropriate links. The reviewer should also bring to the attention of the editorial board to any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript, which is reviewed, and the other already published work, which he is familiar.

3. Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

3.1 Private information and ideas that emerged in the review process should remain confidential and may not be used for personal gain. The reviewer should not consider the manuscript if there is a conflict of interest as a result of its competitive, partnerships or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies or entities associated with the material published.

 Duties of authors

1. Originality and plagiarism

1.1. Authors must ensure that they have written entirely original work. If they used the work and/or words of other authors it should be mentioned and cited accordingly.

2. Access to the data and safety

2.1. The author must be willing to provide access to data related to the publication of material if possible. In any case the author should be ready to store such data for a reasonable period of time after publication.

3. Reusable, excess or a competing publication

3.1 The author does not have to publish works that describe essentially the same study, more than once or in more than one journal.

3.2 Provision of the manuscript to several journals at the same time is unethical publishing behavior of author and is unacceptable.

4. Confirmation of sources

4.1 It is necessary to provide proper acknowledgment of other authors. Contributors must cite the publications that have meaning during the implementation of work.

5. The authorship of the material

5.1 Authorship must be limited to those individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, project, execution or interpretation of the claimed work. All who have made significant contributions should be included to the list of co-authors.

5.2 The author must ensure that the list of the authors contains only the actual authors and do not include any those who are not relevant to this work as well as the fact that all co-authors have read and approved the final version of the paper and agreed to its publication.

6. Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

6.1. All authors must disclose if their work has a financial or other conflict of interest that could affect the results or interpretation of their manuscript.

7. Errors in the published papers

7.1. When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his published work his duty is to immediately notify to the journal or publisher and cooperate with the editorial board for correcting errors.

Author fees

Publication in journal is free of charge for all the authors.

 

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in a reviewer’s own research without the express written consent of the author. Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage.

Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.

 

Plagiarism detection

"Litiyo i Metallurgiya" ("FOUNDRY PRODUCTION AND METALLURGY") use native russian-language plagiarism detection software Antiplagiat to screen the submissions. If plagiarism is identified, the COPE guidelines on plagiarism will be followed.

 

Preprint and postprint Policy

Prior to acceptance and publication in "Litiyo i Metallurgiya" ("FOUNDRY PRODUCTION AND METALLURGY"), authors may make their submissions available as preprints on personal or public websites.

As part of submission process, authors are required to confirm that the submission has not been previously published, nor has been submitted. After a manuscript has been published in "Litiyo i Metallurgiya" ("FOUNDRY PRODUCTION AND METALLURGY") we suggest that the link to the article on journal's website is used when the article is shared on personal or public websites.

Glossary (by SHERPA)

Preprint - In the context of Open Access, a preprint is a draft of an academic article or other publication before it has been submitted for peer-review or other quality assurance procedure as part of the publication process. Preprints cover initial and successive drafts of articles, working papers or draft conference papers.

Postprint - The final version of an academic article or other publication - after it has been peer-reviewed and revised into its final form by the author. As a general term this covers both the author's final version and the version as published, with formatting and copy-editing changes in place.
