The article is devoted to research of process of the iron-containing waste recycling in rotary tilting furnaces, in particular, to the phenomenon of formation of ball iron at transition from hard-phase to liquid-phase stage of iron restoration from scale.
Comparison of chrome sand of Republic of South Africa abd chromite of new generation Spherichrone (producer – the American company Oregon Resources corporation) for priduction of castings with surface of high quality is given.
Numerical modeling of heat transfer coefficient on the surface of the water-cooled rod with a slotted and jet cooling was made. calculations were carried out in a free, open source CFD software package OpenFOAM. it is shown that jet cooling is more uniform and intense compared to the slotted cooling.
Mechanisms of influence of inert gas on the melt for determination of ways of efficiency increase of different variants of the melt blowing are considered.
The groups of alloy steel scrap. suitable for wear-resistant synthetic chromium and iron grades ich18VN ich18VM are studied and defined. Found that the number of alloyed steel scrap in the charge for these irons can be more than 85%, and the price of the charge decreases from 30 to 45%.
Sources of harmful substances discharge from sources of casting houses are given. Distribution of harmful substances discharge into atmosphere by areas of casting houses and casting houses with various types of production is given.
The results of dispersion of harmful substances discharge in environment from the sources of casting houses on the enterprise territory, sanitary protection zone and residential community are given.
Microclimate parameters on workplaces of different areas of casting houses are considered. considerable influence of microclimate parameters on workers, the effect extent of which is defined by the mechanization and automation level, applied technological processes and equipment for cores production, melting and pouring of metal, molding shake-out, is established.
The received calculation data confirm the assumption on possibility of carrying out of silumins modifying processing with strontium carbonate in production conditions.
The influence of iron content on optimum time of quenching and aging of the silumin АК8М3was investigated.
Possibility of manufacturing hollow billets of 150 mm in diameter produced out of silumins by the method of freezing-up on steel water-cooled core was proven. effect of thermal parameters of the casting process on structure of billets was studied.
The results of researches of macro - and microstructure, the structure, formed at primary crystallization of abrasion-resistant irons, and peculiarities of their change in process of thermal processing are given.
Possibility and reasonability of application of self-fluxing diffusion- alloyed powders from the fraction production wastes for obtaining of coverings by welding method by currents of high frequency are considered. The structure and properties of the received coverings is investigated.
The received results show that dephosphorization of alloyed cast irons provides improvement of mechanical properties, decrease of cold-shortness of moulded pieces at low consumption of dephosphorator.

It is established that for production of the wood-cutting tool (cutting elements of disk saws, milling and plane knifes, etc.) It is reasonable to use chrome-vanadium white cast iron which after processing by hot deformation approximates the high-speed steels and even firm alloys by its operational properties, at considerably lower cost.
The influence of alloying by manganese on the structure and hardness of high-chromium wear-resistant cast iron was investigated.

Using a rolling line wire mill reducing-calibrating block the production of high-carbon wire rod subjected to combined thermomechanical treatment with controlled rolling and cooling, can reduce the spread of mechanical properties, reduce the depth of decarbonized layer with a uniform distribution in the surface of its rod on the perimeter, increasing the technological plasticity of rod in processing, virtually eliminating the formation of hardening structures on the surface during high- speed wire drawing.
